Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

EMDR is a structured therapy designed to help clients process and heal from distressing memories and trauma. It involves bilateral stimulation, typically through guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones, while clients recall traumatic experiences. This process helps reduce the emotional charge associated with these memories and allows the brain to reprocess them more adaptively. Unlike traditional talk therapies, EMDR focuses on resolving the physiological and emotional effects of trauma. It is particularly effective for treating PTSD, anxiety, and trauma-related issues. Clients often experience relief and new perspectives on past events, promoting lasting psychological well-being.
